Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I hired a law firm to handle my wage dispute. They were all gung ho in the beginning, papers submitted etc.. Then it cooled down, I was informed these things take time, fine. The last time I heard from my lawyer was June 24. I was informed by him he was meeting with the opposing counsel. I waited to hear back, nothing. I emailed the lawyer. Nothing. I finally called to find out what was up and was informed my lawyer had left the firm over 2 months ago. This was around the time of his meeting. The firm assured me the Owner of the firm was going to take over. Shouldn't I have been informed? Shouldn't the new lawyer call me? I have requested this twice since finding out. Nothing. Do I have any recourse in this?

Thank you!

Submit a complaint to the Florida Bar. Fire them and hire a new lawyer. Just some ideas.
