Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hostile work environment and harrassment

Not much room here so I'll be to the point: I just quit my job as Lead Project Manager for a global Oracle ERP deployment for a Fortune 50 company. Good gig you might think. It was a hostile work environment punctuated by medical harassment, sexual harassment, and executives that I had to work with telling me I was unable to succeed in my role due to factors out of my control. So I quit. And the impact of my quitting has caused an uproar in the company. I've found out that the sexual harassment was known by the CIO and the company hired back the harasser to work on the floor below me. There is so much more to tell I'll save it. But I think I have a case simply because I had to quit to get away from this nightmare.

This is a Florida company. $19 Billion in sales. I was part of a $300 million project to install Oracle ERP that is now failing. After I quit the Director above me is taking a leave of absense and the VP of IT is looking to leave. Rats jumping from the ship. The company reputation is so bad they can't get anyone in FL to consider a job. Its really amazing.

They did such a job on me it was a setup truly a setup for failure. Just wait til you hear what happened when I resigned.

Thank you.

Re: Hostile work environment and harrassment

Just harassment doesn't mean you have a claim (our courts have ruled that they are not super personnel departments). However, if you were sexually harassed you may have a claim. It sounds as if lots was going on so you may have other claims as well. You need to consult with an employment law attorney. You can find one in your area if you go to www.nela.org.
