Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hostile work environment

I have worked for a publically held company for almost the past two years. When hired I was infomred that I would be a salaried employee who had flexabile time due to the need to see clients in the evenings and weekends. I was also offered ''comp time'' for any late hours or weekends due to there not being overtime offered. Recently my department has lost a supervisor and numersous changes have been made. Flexibility has been taken away as well as our comp timeby the new supervisor. In addition to this they are now treating me horribly and making negative comments about me to other employees in the facility. I feel that they are wanting me to quit my job, that they will make it miserable for me until I do so. Is this legal to force me out of my job? I have never had any complaints or formal write ups about the quality of my job. Can they legally create such a hostile work enviroment that I will quit and they can hire someone at a lower salary then my own?

Unfortunately, while the circumstances you've described sound difficult, they are not illegal. Because Florida is an at-will employment state, your employment can be terminated for any reason at any time (meaning that your employer can have a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all). I wish it were not so, but the law typically favors employers in these situations.
