injured on job and let go before claim

i was injured on the job and employer fired me because i could not do my work and had to seek medical care. i was not told of law re FMLA. i lost wages and have incurred medical expenses. i filed a workers compensation claim but employer denies injury on the job. what can i do under FMLA?

whether you have a claim under teh FMLA depends upon the number of employees and the number of hours you have worked for the employer and whether you have taken any prior FMLA in the past year. You may even have a better claim under Florida Statutes 440.205 which provides that an emloyee may not be terminated for filing a w/c claim. Feel free to call or e-mail my office to discuss further.
