Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Job offered Rescinded

I was offered employment by a Security company that required a profile and lie detector test which I was told I passed. When I didn't hear back from this Company, I called to find out the status and was told I would be contacted. A couple of days later I received a letter rescinding the offer. I cannot think of any reason as to why this happened unless they contacted my previous employer and they may have given them a negative reference. I would like to write to them to ask specifically why the offer was rescinded, but I would like to know if they are legally required to provide me with this information so I can site it on my letter.

There are reference checking services out there that can call your former employer to see if they are saying bad things about you. I can give you some names. Might also want to evaluate if there is some improper reason why the security company elected not to hire you. Feel free to contact me with any further questions.

It is a good idea to get this if possible. However, they are under no obligation to provide this information.
