Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I was let go from a job where i had a verbal contract of $600 per week with 2 weeks paid vacation. Instead my last two weeks paychecks were $260 and i recieved 8 additional checks of $260 so i did not complain. Now they're claiming that i owe over. $2000 from checks they made by mistake. What should i do?
