Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Jobsite Harassment
A friend of mine works for the Post Office. Her Post Master has been harassing her for two years now, (not sexually), and has even recently threatened to make her life miserable in front of co-workers. She has documented proof and others willing to testify on her behalf. Does she have any legal recourse under Florida law?

Re: Jobsite Harassment
Perhaps if the supervisor has not followed policy and procedure and the employee has exhausted the internal processes and procedures for resolving such disputes. In addition, there may be a claim for "hostile environment". It is recommended the employee contact the EEO individual at work, file any complaints with the EEOC or local agency and may wish to consult with an attorney to preserve their legal rights.
Re: Jobsite Harassment
Does the harassment stem from her gender, her race or the fact that she engaged in some type of protected activity (such as blowing the whistle on illegal conduct or filing a workers compensation claim)? If so then she may have a claim. However, having a nasty boss may not be legally actionable although she should file a formal written complaint with the appropriate HR personnel.
