Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Laid off and will not pay vacation
I was ''laid off'' today. HR says that it should be a ''short term'' layoff of 90 days, an in as much they will not payout my acrued vacation which announts to 147 hours. If the ''lay off lasts more than 90 days, they will pay my ''eligible'' vacation.
Is this legal under Florida law?

I'm assuming you're a member of a Union or else you don't have any right to continued employment. Accordingly, please contact your Union rep to ascertain your rights under your Collective Bargaining Agreement.
