Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I don't know if I have the right to any legal recourse, I really just want the facts on the laws so that I can bring it to my managers attention. First, let me state that I've been told by all managers that I am the best at my job, so this is not about poor performance. I have been getting two shifts a week lately, because the company was forced to cut down on hours. I have not complained, and continued to do everything they asked. But then they brought in someone from another department and gave them 2 shifts that I was open to work. This person already had 5 shifts, so this makes 7. I have 2. This person didn't have to train at all, even though I had to go through a month of training. I had more experience than him, before my training. I even offered to train this person, and I was told that it would be fine. I can't say that there is a sexual relationship between my female boss and this male employee, but there is without a doubt discrimination because I am a female.
