Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Letter of resignation and 2-week notice. Employed in Florida, employer home-office based in Missouri. Pharmaceutical Company.
I sent in my letter of resignation on Thursday, Nov 17th, after working that day, stating that I was "giving my 2-weeks notice effective Friday, Novmber 18th". My employer is now only honoring the 2-weeks as of that Thursday, instead of honoring the date in the letter. So now the last day is November 30th, instead of December 1st (which would be 2-weeks from the date stated in the letter). Any insight or ways to proceed?

It dpends on your employment contract. Absent an agreement and if you are employed at will, an employer need not honor your two weeks notice and could discharge you immediately upon your announced intention to leave your job.
