Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Loss of Bonus-Is it right?

For something that was a company wide policy it was found that it was incorrect. I am the only one being penalized for it and the four years of backpay to correct the situation has resulted in the loss of my bonus. The others in the company is only told to ''From now on...'' follow this policy. But I am the only one being charged. I have followed the grieviance policy only to be told that it is unfortunate I was the ''scapegoat''. I also only have been there a year and yet I am being charged four years worth from others who were there before me.

Is this legal? The pay is alright, the bonus is what we all really strive and depend on.

Re: Loss of Bonus-Is it right?

Under federal law, unless this has resulted in you being paid less than the minimum wage, it probably does not violate your rights. Florida state law might be a little different, but under the limited facts you've presented, it may not accomplish your objective either. Please consult an attorney immediately or contact us for further assistance.
