Mandatory overtime

How many overtime hours a week can an employer make mandatory for a non-exempt hourly employee?

The law does not impose a maximum, so an employer can legally require you to work as many hours as they see fit. However, if you are non-exempt, then you are legally entitled to time and a half for all hours worked over 40 in one workweek.
