Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Misrepresentation by employer

I had a secured job and left due to promise of better pay and career path. The employer misrepresented herself. My first paycheck was not available. There were five that I had to catch at a cost to me at a cash store, because she did not have the funds. She bounced two to three checks on me. Had I known prior to being hired that her business was not secured, I would not had left my secured positon. I was hired as a subcontractor and need to know if this contract was broken.

Re: Misrepresentation by employer

First, is the contract in writing? Second, what were the terms? My guess is that its just an unfair deal, but please contact us if you believe you may be owed wages, including overtime you may not have received. Your employer's attempt to call you a subcontractor may or may not have legal effect.
