Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Mom's Mother's Day Shocker From Employer
Expectant Florida mom suddenly recieves evaluation after working for company 1.5 years and never receiving one. Eval poor in nature women resigns since she feels contents of eval were unjustified.
Sudden timing of eval seems suspect since it coincides with company finding out she is pregnant and while company is going through financial problems and because women has always received high evals at other companies.
Does the women have any legal recourse?

Re: Mom's Mother's Day Shocker From Employer
Employment discrimination based on pregnancy is considered gender or sex discrimination. Adversely changing the terms and conditions of employment solely because someone is pregnant is a violation of the law. That said, on the facts given I am not sure why "Mom" resigned. Simply being unhappy with an employee review does not show that the job was changed for the worse because of her pregnancy. Still, I suggest you talk with a local employment attorney that your trust.
