Non-compensated work
I'm a part-time hourly worker and did not sign an employment contract. My employer expects me to man a company booth for 2-1/2 hours, on my day off, for no compensation whatsoever. No pay, not even comp time or mileage to help defray gasoline expenses. Is it legal for my employer to require such non-compensated work as a condition of my continuing employment? Thank you.

Forcing you to perform uncompensated work is a violation of both Federal and FL law. I regularly handle cases seeking payment of wages for time worked. If you are an hourly employee then you should be paid for each hour worked. Anything else is illegal.
