Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I didn't Get Paid By Employer

My employer owes me $6800.00. I am a mortgage broker. They choose not to pay me because a loan I provided a customer defaulted. I can't help that. They sent an email saying I would be paid. I wasn't paid.

There are several laws (both Federal and in Florida) which may apply to protect your right to be paid, depending on your specific situation. Feel free to contact me at 877-456-WAGE to discuss how I might be able to help you recover the money owed to you.

Whether you can recover those wages may depend upon whether they constitue a "commission" and how the law treats your employer's commission policies/practices. Additionally, you might potentially have other remedies, if for example you worked overtime hours without being paid overtime wages, that would provide you with an avenue to recovery monies from your employer even if the "commission" itself technically cannot be recovered. The tests are very fact specific and depend on your job duties and other reasons, so please consult with an attorney promptly. Please feel free to contact me for further assistance via email or by phone.
