Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I get paid hourly and also earn a monthly bonus which my boss pays in the form of an American Express Gift card, which is not accepted everywhere I shop. On my first paycheck in 2010 my boss deducted taxes for all of gift cards I recieved in 2009. My gross pay of about $2000.00 was reduced by over $1000.00 to cover the taxes he said I owed on those gift cards. Is it legal for him to give out giftcards and later deduct taxes?
