Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Should I be paid termination compensation

I was a commissioned loan officer employed past the probationary period and working under a verbal agreement. Upon submission of my 2 weeks resignation notice, my supervisor said ''you can go now, we don't need you''. Should I be paid termination compensation based on my historical sales? Can they deduct the cost of company provided clothing from my earned commissions? The clothing was provided by the company to exhibit a unified image but I did not agree to pay for them.

Re: Should I be paid termination compensation

The law does not require that an employer ever pay any employee "termination" or "severance" pay. Additionally, your employer can deduct the cost of any uniforms of clothing provided that are not returned upon termination. Wish there was better news . . .
