I have been employeed for 12 years at a company-perfect record. I filed a grievance against a new supervisor, my pay was cut $13,000 net per year. I am in a differnt department but must start at the bottom after all these years but my collegue I trained moved to this same department and kept his pay. One other question, legal-I was subbpeoned as a witness for some thing I witnessed, must i go. No time and cannot miss work Thanku

Re: Pay cut
If your grievance against your supervisor involved a violation of a law, rule, or regulation, you may have a claim under Florida Whistleblower law. If you are 40 years old or over and were replaced by a younger employee, you may have an age discrimination claim under either Florida or federal law. If your employer penalizes you for responding to a subpoena, you may also have a claim. You need to have a consultation with an employment law attorney asap. Good luck.
Re: Pay cut
What type of grievance did you file against your supervisor? That would have a lot to do with whether you have a claim. As to the subpoena, if it is for you to appear in a court near where you reside, you need to comply with the subpoena or get the attorney that issued the subpoena to excuse you. Call the attorney and see if you can furnish a deposition or something to avoid attending court.
