Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Personel Items
Sometime ago I was terminated by a large company, in part because human resources was acting in a manner at the minimum was not ethical (hiring people based on their looks, or lack of, etc) which I thought was wrong and brought to their attention. At the time of my termination it was at the HR office away from my office and the site which I worked. I was told not to/never to return to my office. My personal effects were then boxed up by HR (according to HR and other employees) and not returned to me. They were released to another employee (not in the HR area) to give to me, however I did not give HR permission release my items to anyone else. The employee that they released my personel items to did not return them to me, since they lived about 60 miles away from me and never saw me outside of work, hence I never received them. The company is a Fortune 500 company so they have in house attorney's to fight things. Some of the items had real value (aside from personal value.) Do I have any recourse in small claims court ?

Re: Personel Items
I would send a letter by certified and regular mail requesting that they return the specific items to you or their equivalent value. If they fail to do so, you could then file a small claims action.

If ytou have not received your persnal effects, you should write and request them. If you have done that you can bring suit for their return or their value.
