Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
My question is in reguard to over time pay here in the state of Florida. If you work your normal 40 hr week and are required to also attending mandated trainings above and beyond your 40 hrs do they have to pay over time or can they get away with straight time under a training classification.

I am not aware of any basis to not pay you for overtime if your trainings take you over 40 hrs per week. You may want to address this situation with your employer if they don't fix it go the the U.S. Department of Labor of an employment law attorney that focuses on FLSA or Fair labor Standards Act.
