Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I was just recently hired by AMSCOT and worked for 2 days. They contacted myself after 2 days of work and advised myself of a criminal backround check they performed. I was arrested in 2005 and the charges were dismissed. No criminal information in the state of florida was filed. I produced that information with AMSCOT and they still denied me employment. Why would they hire myself then do a backround check and then dismiss me? I was never convicted of anything. After the fired myself I went to the court and filed paperwork to have the file expunged. Is there any legal recourse to this matter? I am very upset at the way they handled the situation. Thank you.

No, they can hire you and then fire you when the they get the results of your background check. After you get the record expunged, you can re-apply for employment, but they are not required to hire you.
