Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

i recently was laid off from my job and asked for a print out of past time cards to verify that i was paid for all hours worked including overtime. my employer refused to hand over this information. is it legal for an employer to withhold that information?

Why didn't you keep the information yourself? You should have checked each time you were paid for accuracy. Once you are fired I don't believe you have any right to see this information.
