Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I was recently terminated for cause. I was a salaried employee. I was put on "suspension" on day 2 of the pay cycle, but worked hours on both day one and 2. I was told to come into the store on day 3 to talk to loss prevention (was there over an hour), and on day 4 had to drive in to give my keys to the substitute person so they had keys to close the store. I was told that there would be no decision made regarding my status until the following Monday (day 9). On that Monday, i was called at noon and terminated. Yesterday, on the regular pay date, my check was for $125.56. It shows negative earnings for one week and only 8 hours, and then shows one weeks vacation and the negative salary taken from that. Makes no sense to me. If I am to be paid hourly for that week, I think I should be paid for 4 - 9 hour days as that is our standard schedule as well as the full week's vacation pay. Please advise Company is in multiple states
