Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I have reported safety violations to OSHA in the last week. My employer is aware of this and has asked me repeatedly if I want to reamain and employee and has described the enviroment as "unfixable" and "poisonous". I recieved an email that attacked my character and job performance, but also admitted that they were in violation and could be shut down. I would like to suggest to them that I would accept a severance so that both sides can move on quickly. I really do not want to continue in this work enviroment and they have made it clear they do not want me, but as long as OSHA is involved, they know they can not act on terminating me. How should I proceed?? My position is a very hard one to fill and will take them several months to replace me... making it difficult for me to find employment without moving as well.
