Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Settlement Agreement
I went to work for an environmental company this year. I had been in this field since 1996. Sales area. The non-compete is basic, but I have my own lists of clients no different than theirs dating back years before my employment with them.
My question is that they had me sign an employment agreement and now that I am terminated from the position I have a settlement contract they sent me.
Does this final settlement contract supersede the original agreement?
I am hoping it does because there are several errors on it.
The date of this contract is June 30, 2005 and the disiplinary state is VA. and there is a monetary value to it.
I want to sign with a witness before sending it back. The person who got me fired is the same one that sent this without proofing it.
What is your advice on this?
Thanks
Sarah

Re: Settlement Agreement
Look to see if the new contract specifically says that it is the "entire agreement" between the parties and "supersedes" all prior agreements. If so, then you're in luck!
