Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hi, I started a job 2 weeks ago via a great reference who my employer knows. It comes with a live-on site apartment that I moved into. He called yesterday and to my complete shock he said he was informed that I was not doing my job, that I was fired and had 1 or 2 days to leave. After several minutes of telling him that there are staff members and residents that will inform him that I have been doing my job well he finally stopped telling me I had to leave and said he would talk to me today. I asked staff members and residents and wrote down there names to verify that he has been wrongly informed. They all say I am doing a good job and glad I am here. I just dont trust the owner right now as this is the 2nd thing that he has done that is just absurd. Ive gone above and beyond what I am asked to do here truly.. So I am not sure of his motivation or he did in fact get fals information, especially that it came from an employee that he has had serious difficulty with (falling asleep during 3rd shift emergency watch several times and there is more) as he has expressed this to me. Its horrid. And after talking with the staff members and residents that want to be my witness and say they really like me to be there and doing a good job he sais I am fired anyway I only have 1-2 days to find a place to live. I just do not trust the motivation but giving him benefit of the doubt and will talk with him today with witnesses. Is there a minumum state law that he has to give me a minimum proper notice, or do I have to leave when ever he sais? I have no place to go.. Its truly unreal and not good at all. I really appreciate any information and any advice you may have.

Thank you,

Sincerely,

Ron

Did you have written lease? Were you required to pay rent and how frequently? Dont think they can just say you have to get out whenever they feel like it. Feel free to e-mail or call me to discuss further.
