Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I have been a store manager for at a very prominent automotive repair/tire shop. I was fired because a mechanic broke something on a customer's car and repaired it, but the repair failed. This was not a part that was sold to the customer and it is not uncommon practice in the automotive field for mechanics to fix anything they may have broken while making other repairs. If they are unable to fix it, we will replace it at no charge to the customer. I did not do the repairs. I am not a mechanic. The mechanic did not lose his job as of yet. I feel the real reason behind my firing is because I am due a large end-of-year bonus that the company will get out of paying me if they fire me.

Do you have a written contract or bonus plan with your former employer? Do you have e-mails or other documents showing the bonus you should have been paid? Maybe there is a claim for breach of contract? Feel free to contact my office or check our our employee rights blog at www.takethisjobnshoveitblog.com or www.behrenlaw.com.
