Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Suspended with pay
I was suspended with pay at work over a disciplinary action, now I am told after 16 days off of work that a mistake was made and I am NOT suspended with pay, that I must use my personal leave time. If the employer suspends an employee during an investigation, can they make that employee use up their personal leave time? I have been told by various persons that if suspended by the employer, the employer must pay for the suspension time during an investigation. Please reply.

Re: Suspended with pay
Your employer is NOT required to pay you while on suspension or leave as part of an investigation UNLESS you are a member of a Union and your Collective Bargaining Agreement requires such payment.
