can't talk to previous employees

I got a letter today from a previous employer stating that I in no way can communicate with any of their employees due to a noncomplete agreement, not even socially. Can they do that, isn't that Communisim???

They may be entitled to regulate who you can do business with and/or work for as a result of a valid non-compete agreement but they cannot legally prohibit you from speaking to people about personal/social relationships.
