Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I am a teacher who has had the misfortune of being bounced from position to position due to budget cuts over the past couple of years. I have been looking again this summer and have finally found the job I want and need. I received a call from the principal who reported a bad reference from an old principal to me. I am lucky he called me because I wouldn't have known otherwise. This also confusing because this person has given me a good reference before for two other jobs I have had. I am concerned because I may not get this job and he may have been the reason some of my interviews haven't called me back. I haven't seen this bad reference in 2 years. Can I sue for defamation since I possess letters stating the opposite?
