Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Terminated after being made to relocate at my own cost.

I was hired for a management position which required me to be in a certain location for 2-3 months, but afterwards I could live anywhere within the state. I ended up staying in that certain location for 17 months, and then was told I had to move there permanently to keep my job. I sold my house and moved my family at my own cost. 6 weeks later they ''downsize'' me. I got 2 weeks severance, and an offer of 3 more if I sign a release. Do I have any other recourse?

Unfortunately, in the State of Florida, there is likely verly little you can do legally because unless you had a written employment contract for a specific period of time, your employment (legally) is not guaranteed and in fact can be terminated at any time. It is a deplorable situation but one which the law does not currently provide a remedy for.
