If given thursday and Friday off for thanksgiving , with no choice in the matter , and only being paid for thursday is there anything that can be done?

Whether there is something that can be done or now depends on your employment agreement with your employer, or union agreement, if there is one. This is fact specific, and without knowing more, there is no way to know for sure what your actual rights are. If you have an employment agreement, or are part of a union agreement, what the agreement says usually controls. However, without seeing what you have, and talking in detail, about this, and any other history for past years, there is no absolute correct answer that any lawyer should be able to give you.
