Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Travel time pay

Is a cleaning company required to pay travel pay if you have to travel to different buildings in the same day to clean them? We start at 5:00pm at the office, we leave there and go to the first acount it takes about 2hours, then to the next one for about 2.5hours, then to the next one which takes 3 to 4 hours then to the next one which takes 3 to 4 hours. then we are done. Included ia about 2 to 3 hours of travel between acounts. Should I get paid for this time?

Re: Travel time pay

On the facts given I cannot say for sure that you should be paid for your travel time. Although, assuming you are paid by the hour and not per job, and especially if the company transports you from job to job, then they may owe you for travel time (and from the hours stated in your example they may owe you overtime pay). I believe you need to talk this question over in detail with an attorney.
