Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
uncollectable compensation
what can an illegal alien do if his former employer, who knowingly employed him for around 1 year, is not willing to pay $3300 for 3 month compensation that remains unpaid only for personal purposes (i guess)? an illegal alien is going to his country of origin as soon as he gets the money. no one seems to know what to do in this case?!?! i have heard something about unjudged enrichment, i'm not sure whether i got it right,
thank you

Re: uncollectable compensation
You can attempt to sue them. My suggestion would be to file a small claims lawsuit, you would have to pay a small filing fee and then fill out a brief form, which you can do on your own. However, be advised that if your former employer retaliates by contacting INS/DOJ (or whatever their formal agency name is today), the employer's unlawful failure to pay you will not be a defense to your illegal status.
