Unemployment denial hearing

My unemployment was accepted then denied when I was laid off for a few weeks. It seems a second past employer for whom I worked part-time as a second job is contesting it. Not only are they contesting it they are fabricating all kinds of reasons why I was a bad employee just to get out of paying unemployment, and yet shortly before they dismissed me they gave me a large merit raise with a written statement to that effect. Basically I was let go because they had no work and they knew I had another job so I was picked for the chopping block. They have a previous bad history of doing this to people. My real employer, for whom I've worked for over 3 yrs has no problem and gladly contributes to the unemployment for the periodic layoffs they give, because they want us back. Why is this part-time job allowed to mess up me getting any benefits at all. I have a hearing by phone set and I would like to know what to expect. Can they really deny all unemployment because of a little part-time second previous job?

Unfortunately they can give you quite a hard time with these situations, so if you can have an attorney represent you on the tele-conference I would recommend it.
