Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Vacation Pay
I have been working full-time at my job for more than a year and a half. In May of this year I was paid vacation pay. I have recently changed to part-time. My job has now informed me I need to pay back the vacation pay, and I will not receive a paycheck until it has all been paid back. Is that legal?

Re: Vacation Pay
The law requires your employer to pay you at least the minimum wage ($5.15/hour under federal law and $6.40/hour under Florida law), so unless your pay is reducing this level, your employer's actions--although seemingly unfair--are probably not unlawful.
