Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Voluntarily Quit / Good Cause / Unemployment

My husband worked at a job for 10 years and was laid off in March becuase the plant closed. He went to work the following week with another company makeing $3.50 less an hour with no benefits. When he took this job he was told that they had good insurance. When he finally rec'd info on the insurance it he had been given the impression that the company paid his insurance. Then a week later they began taking $70 dollars out of his check. He went and talked to the lady in the office and she said that they paid for some employees and some employees they did not. The job was horrible and unsafe and hazardious at times. My husband hated but did not have time to find other employment. On his last day there he had been working with some tools and he left to go to lunch thinking that the equipment would be there when he came back. Other employees took the equipment and told him to use something else that was unsafe. There is alot more to the story but to make a long story short my husband went to his supervisor and told him he was leaving and why. My question is can my husband still receive unployment comp from his previous employer when he was laid off or this employer for him to have to quit because the job was unsafe.

Sounds like your husband may have a lot of possible legal issues that could not all be addressed in an e-mail. Give me a call if you wish to discuss them further.
