Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
wage negotiations
short version
Worked in NJ for 7 years then transfered to Fl 3 years ago. Pay decreased when came here to FL. Last 3 years I have been getting shifted from one dept to another. In the department im in now 5 or more people make 5k-10K more than I do. I have a bachelors and most of them dont. I have been with the company longer than some of them. When I asked about my pay the response was I was already getting paid within the range even though its at the lowest end of the range. They make up different titles for me all the time. My impression is that my direct supervisor is racist against me or has some personal hatred for me. The results of my asking about my pay was a .50 raise. Do I have any type of case based on this info? I work for a very large telecommunication company that seems to be keeping me from advancing. I am not a union member as Im deemed a supervisor. New employees just starting actually get paid more tham me and im supervising them.

Re: wage negotiations
Based on what you told me it is impossible to determine whether you have a viable cause of action for Employment Discrimination. Courts generally give employers wide latitude to determine compensation for its employees. You should consult with an attorney in a detailed manner concerning your employment issues.
