Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
At will employment/terminations
You are an ''At will employee'' of a corporation based in California which requires 2 weeks notice of employment resignation. Can the employer terminate the resigning employee on the day of resignation without paying the employee through the end of the required 2 week resignation period? If the employee does not give a full 2 week notice (8 work days)does this alter the answer for the above question?

While I am not licensed to practice in California and cannot provide advice based on California precedent on this issue, it is my opinion that the Employer legally is not obligate to pay you for any days not actually worked--whether they are part of a "notice" period or not.
