Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Will my Military Discharge prevent me from getting hired?

About 3 years ago, when I was 18 and fresh out of high school I joined the army. I was shortly there after Discharged with a chapter 15 (homosexual) discharge. The Term of service was listed as uncharacterized, and I was given an Entry Level seperation. I really want to be a police officer, and most departments say they will only hire you if you have an honorable discharge. Where do you think I stand with this discharge? Ive also been told that because its an uncharacterized entry level seperation that I dont even have to admit that I was in the military on any applications...any truth to that? Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated
