Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
I work at an appliance store as a salesman. Recently it was discovered that some of the people that work in the office have been stealing money from the company for quite a few years. One employee was fired, one resigned.
This past Saturday we had a sales meeting, during which our general manager told the staff in attendance that he did not trust any of us. He has said, "Everyone who works for this company is either a thief or a drug addict."
It has become quite uncomfortable working here from day to day.
So, the first part of my question is: Could this be considered a hostile work environment?
He also during the meeting on Saturday told everyone that if we "snitch" on a fellow employee that we know is either stealing or doing drugs, that he will give the "snitch" $1000 cash.
I have heard of this kind of thing being referred to as a "bounty", and it does not seem right to me.
So, the second part of my question is: Is what he is doing even legal?
Thank you very much for you time and all of your help with my questions.

Would not be considered a hostile work environment.
Not sure that there is illegality on his offering a bounty.
