Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I work at a car dealership and get paid commission off of the gross of the department. My pay plan states that I get a certain percentage of the total gross of the department. For a while now, the company has been taking money straight out of the gross and putting it into a "fund" for inventory that has come of age.

Recently, an employee wrecked a company vehicle, was fired, and refused to have the money for the repair taken out of his last check. Well, instead of going through insurance, the company decided to fix the vehicle in the store. To make a long story short, the repair for that vehicle came off of the gross of the department as well.

I just have to know, is this legal. I am sure it is, because from what I understand the rights of a Florida employee are very limited.

Thank You

It would really depend on the specific terms of your contract and how this would be interpreted under it. It would be legal to do so as long as that is what is in the contract.
