Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

work related injury.

I injured myself at work yesterday. i went to the emergency room and received a paper that stated ''rest, no heavy lifting, must follow up with workmans comp. docter''. My employer has told me he called the emergency rom and they said, that i had no restritions and to return to work tomorrow. i am still in pain. does he have the legal right to make me return to work without seeing the workmans comp docter first?

It sounds like you need the help of a Workers' Comp. attorney to make sure you protect yourself. If your employer has over 50 employees and you have been employed for at least 1 year, you may be eligible for protected leave from your job under the Family and Medical Leave Act as well, but please consult with an attorney in your area right away.
