Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

I HAVE WORKED AT A HOSPITAL IN THE AMBULATORY SURGERY DEPARTMENT

SINCE 1993. WE ARE OPEN FROM 5:45 AM TO 7PM. OUR WORK SCHEDULE REFLECTS

THESE HOURS. WE RECENTLY GOT A NEW ACTING OR DIRECTOR AS OURS LEFT

OR WAS LET GO, i'M NOT SURE WHAT HAPPENED.

ON THIS PAST TUESDAY AT OUR STAFF MEETING THIS DIRECTOR STATED WE

WOULD NOW BE OPEN UNTIL 10PM. HE EXPECTS US TO SIGN UP ON A DAILY

BASIS TO STAY ( 2 NURSES) UNTIL 10 PM. ONE OF THE NURSES QUESTIONED

HAVING TO STAY LATE AFTER HER 7PM SHIFT HE STATED IF SHE DID NOT

STAY HE WOULD CHARGE HER WITH ABANDONMENT OF HER PATIENTS.

MY QUESTION IS -- THIS IS NOT WHAT WE HIRED FOR - THERE IS NO CALL

IN OUR DEPARTMENT, ALTHOUGH WE WILL RECEIVE OVERTIME/CALL PAY

ON THE NIGHTS WE STAY, BUT MANY OF US DO NOT WANT TO WORK FROM

6AM TILL 10PM. iS THIS LEGAL TO CHANGE OUR HOURS WITHOUT NOTICE.?
