Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
i need to know what i can do here. i was working for circle k, and i became pregnant. my doctor gave me a note saying i needed to sit every once and a while cause i shouldnt be on my feet for 8 hours with no breaks. that was on 2/17/2010. they said i couldnt come back to work untill my baby was born. i had my baby on 5/23/10. in between that time i filed for unemployment and got denied. circle k has since let me go because my leave was "too long". now they have a new employee doing my job and i walked in and she was sitting in a chair because she has an injured foot! they have allowed her to use a chair for her medical reasons. i believe this is unfair, and might have something to do with the fact that i was a pregnant lesbian

You should speak with an employment lawyer and file an EEOC charge asap for pregnancy discrimination. Maybe you also have a claim for ADA violations and violations of the FMLA.
