Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Hi , I am working for a daycare for 3 months, I have my 40 hours of work. But the graduation day is coming and the owner wants us to work from 6 pm to 11 pm or 12 am for free, just because she wants to and say that we have to go. The day care close at 7 pm but that day is going to close early at 4 pm. I would like to know if she can force us to work or if she can fire me if I dont want to work those hours for free. I dont know what to do.

Thank you

If you are going to work over 40 hours in a week, she needs to pay you overtime. If she does not you can go the the U.S. Department of Labor or an employment law attorney that handles Fair Labor Standards Acts (FLSA) claims.
