Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
''Wrongful Termination''
I was accused of stealing something not sold in the store I worked in. I was found innocent, they appealed twice, yet I was still found innocent. The termination is still on their records as theft. I want to know if it is to late to sue the company for wrongful termination?
[this happened February 2002]

Re: ''Wrongful Termination''
Unfortunately, there is no cause of action for "wrongful termination" in Florida, as an employer is legally allowed to terminate your employment for a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all. This would include your circumstances. My recommendation is to consider whether there are other claims you might have (unpaid overtime, etc.) to see if there is some other way to obtain at least some relief.
