Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
wrongful termination, slander
March of this year I was fired for to many personal phone calls. Recently I found out from a coworker who was let go 2 months after me that our boss deliberately tried to set me up for theft so that she could fire me and hire her sons fiance. The paperwork she turned in said I was fired for stealing among other things. My coworker was asked to help in this setup. My boss also told others I was fired for stealing. The same exact situation was employed with my coworker and she was fired so that a friend of our boss could be hired. I was written up for drawer shortage of $8 over the course of 3 months that I had to pay back as well as personal appearance (I didnt wear makeup) and personal phone calls. Nothing was mentioned about stealing and I had to reimburse the $8. Two weeks before I had herniated my back not at work and it was just before the start of the busy season. Next thing I knew I was fired. Do I have any kind of case against the company?
