Wrongfull termination

Can I be terminated for a possession of alcoholic beverage in the company premissess .On new years my boss toldme to leave early and he told me some one told him I was drinking on the job . He followed me down to the car at the parking lot and asked if I had any alcohol in the car I replied yes is a bottle i purchased 3 hours before to have a toast with my wife it was a 10 ounze bottle of shampangne not opened and in its bag unoponed my boss took it and acused me of drinking it .The next scheduled day to work he and the HR manager presented me with a letter discharging me for possessing alcoholic beverages on company premisess.

I regret that this is how your New Year began, but unfortunately, your employer is allowed to terminate your employment for any reason, at any time--meaning they can have a good reason, a bad reason, or no reason at all. Nonetheless, if you worked more than forty (40) hours per week at your job but did not receive overtime pay, or you feel some other basis exists for why you were discharged (age, race, etc), please contact us for further assistance.
